Courtney Sue Arciaga August 28, 1984 – December 31, 2017 San Diego Our precious angel, Courtney Sue Arciaga, who bravely battled so many challenges all her life, passed away Sunday afternoon, December 31 of cardiopulmonary failure.

She was 33 years old. Diagnosed with progeria shortly after her birth, and later many other complications associated with progeria and her tiny body, she never let her condition keep her from living a full and wonderful life.

She played youth soccer, participated in Special Olympics, had a part on the TV series “X Files,” was a guest on many TV shows including Phil Donahue and Sally Jessy Raphael. She got to meet her favorite movie star Leonardo DiCaprio, she took the helm of the USS Nimitz, sat in the dugout with Tony Gwynn, and garnered the most votes for Bonita Vista High School Prom Queen, where she graduated in 2004.
